Jānis Romanovskis is one of the most recognized and talented Latvian photographers in the world, whose works are full of transcendental beauty and light. A laureate of both national and international photography contests, Jānis is best known for his documentary-style photography as well as his work capturing folk dancing, large events and music performances. As well many books are illustrated with his pictures.

Hi there! I'm Jānis Romanovskis and am overjoyed to welcome you to my page (GRIBUVASARU.LV, translating to "I want summer!")! Unsurprisingly, summer is my greatest inspiration and I wholeheartedly believe that the rest of the seasons are placeholders until we can finally get back to summertime. And so, I eagerly count down to the time of year when the sun is at her warmest and the light is at her most luminescent. I travel to where summer is in full swing and as much as possible, I use only the light nature provides us in my photography; fake or generated light is not for me.
